Comanche County has a “Home Town" atmosphere, where every one knows each other by their first name, and greets you with a smile. The community offers comfortable living without the big city headaches, with a unique opportunity to experience the serenity and fun of small country towns.
Our horizon encompasses 789 scenic square miles of level to gently rolling cropland and rough, broken rangeland. Elevation ranges from 1,580 to 2,220 feet. Cropland lies toward the center of the county, surrounded by nearly 300,000 acres of rangeland.
The Gypsum Hills cover southeastern Comanche County, giving way to the High Plains at the county's northwest corner. US Highway 160 from Coldwater to Medicine Lodge is The Gypsum Hills Scenic Byway. With red soil, deep canyons, flat mesas, high buttes and cap rock formations this 42 miles is breathtaking. Bring your camera and explorer spirit and come and experience Comanche County and "life as it should be".
I invite you to come into the pages and see what we have to offer.
