PROTECTION, Population 526*:
Incorporated in 1909, Protection continues to be the manufacturing center of Comanche County, with 3 manufacturers in operation. In addition, internationally renowned earthwork artist, Stan Herd, proudly claims Protection his hometown.
WILMORE, Population 56*:
The small but mighty Wilmore is nestled in a valley along Mule Creek in northeast Comanche County. Wilmore is a little hidden treasure that boasts a popular monthly music show called, "Wilmore Saturday Night", which draws both local and nationally recognized musicians.
COLDWATER, Population 748*:
The town was established in 1884, and is the county seat. Coldwater is home to beautiful Lake Coldwater, which offers boating, camping, fishing, water skiing and swimming.
BUTTERMILK:
If you are looking for this little town along Hwy. 1 between Coldwater and the Oklahoma line, you will find quaint Antioch Church and a few farmhouses sprinkled around it. While the "town" is unincorporated, it appears on most maps and is an important part of Comanche County.
